Props in Practice

This format is exclusively available to Guided Journey members.

Explore props as upāya: skilful means — or practical “technologies”— whose intelligent use requires knowledge, discernment and intention. Moving beyond fixed instructions and standard solutions, each session investigates how props can be adapted to individual needs, bodily variability and changing external conditions to refine action, perception and understanding.

Props in Practice

The interactive sessions are reserved for Guided Inquiry members and offer a small-group space for in-depth exploration, directly guided by Chiara.

Where, when, how—and why

A prop is not a predetermined solution: its value depends on why it is being used, for whom and in what context. In these sessions, we examine questions and examples brought by participants to understand when to introduce support, how to modify its use and what responses to observe.

We explore props as instruments of support, direction, restriction or feedback, moving beyond the mechanical repetition of familiar configurations. The aim is to develop a more intelligent and discerning use of props that responds to the actual needs of practice.
